Welcome to the Fife 49ers testimonial website

The Fife 49ers were established in 1985, and quickly grew from a playing "unkitted" football games against local rivals, to playing fully kitted against teams from all over the British Isles, as well as America.

Originally known as the Fife Falcons until obliged by the BAFL to change their name the 49ers made the playoffs in 3 seasons (1989, 1993 and 1994) but failed to progress past the first round on each occasion. Laterly they joined the SGA in 1995, and regretably disbanded at the end of the 1996 season.

The 49ers played their home games at Beveridge Park, Kirkcaldy. They wore red game pants, black jerseys with gold, and red helmets. As well as regular season games in a number of leagues and conferences, they played Perry Pirates from Ohio in touring matches. This was made possible as Fife’s then head coach Bob Wilson was a Perry High School teacher who was on an exchange with a Kirkcaldy teacher.
